We are now open for visitors who live in Wales to enjoy our outdoor space. Watersports and fishing are not currently permitted. Our café is operating a takeaway service only.

Cycling conditions are perfect at Llyn Brenig which is why it's one of the most popular places to ride a bike in North Wales. The pace can be completely up to you whether you prefer cycling along one of the longer routes or are seeking a more challenging track. For others, a more leisurely pace, enjoying the wildlife and maybe stopping at one of our picnic sites.

There are a network of waymarked trails available for you to bike along, or you can just make up your own route if you prefer.

Brenig's six main cycle tracks are detailed below. You can download a copy of our cycling leaflet here.

Brenig Trail (9.5 miles)

A scenic cycling ride around the Brenig reservoir. Mostly on flat terrain, with a steep section half way around that rewards you with beautiful views of the moors and reservoir.

Alwen Trail (7 miles)

Take your bike to the start of the Alwen reservoir car park

Circular Trail (9.5 miles)

Combines both Brenig and Alwen routes

Forest Trail (2 miles)

Links Brenig and Alwen to create a small circular biking route from the visitor centre

Dam Trail (2.5 miles)

A short circular route which includes some uneven terrain and steep slopes

Elorgarreg Trail (5 miles)

Along rough track with steep section for thrill seekers
